Is it connected? Verify and troubleshoot
Confirm it works
Section titled “Confirm it works”Make sure Nomi is open, then go back to the assistant you just connected and restarted, and send:
List the projects that are in Nomi.
If the reply contains real project names from your Nomi project library, it is connected.
Then try the sample sentence shown on the card:
Create a “Coffee Ad” project in Nomi, split it into three shots, add them to the canvas, and generate the first one with my image model.
Back in Nomi, a new project is in the library and the canvas has shots: the assistant is really operating Nomi. If the assistant needs to generate, make sure a model is already connected in Nomi.
When it cannot connect
Section titled “When it cannot connect”| What you see | Most likely because | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| The assistant says it cannot connect to Nomi, or has no Nomi tools | Nomi is not open, or the assistant was not restarted after connecting | Open Nomi first, then fully restart the assistant |
| My assistant is not on Nomi’s connection card | Nomi did not detect it on this computer | Install the assistant and come back, or connect it by hand with the generic configuration under Other clients at the bottom of the card |
| Connect is refused | The assistant’s config file is not valid JSON, is read-only, or its entry named nomi was not written by this Nomi |
Follow the message on the card: fix that file, turn off read-only, or remove that nomi entry in the assistant and connect again |
| The card says the connection configuration needs an update | The assistant holds an older Nomi launch method that no longer exists | Click Upgrade or Repair on the card, then restart the assistant |
| Cursor can only start drafts and cannot produce directly | Cursor is not a trusted starter by default and the switch is off | Select Cursor on the card, turn on “Let Cursor start production on its own”, and watch for Cursor’s own approval on its first call |
Still stuck
Section titled “Still stuck”Write down which assistant you use, which step you reached and what the assistant said word for word, then ask in the GitHub discussions. Do not paste whole configuration files.
